چکیده

This paper aims to introduce thermal energy storage technology into a solar-powered dual-packed bed desalination system. By prehesdating and reserving seawater during the daytime utilizing it at night, integrated system with innovative configuration can achieve freshwater electricity combined generation particularly realize continuous operations for water production. The detailed mathematical model is established, corresponding parametric analyses are executed various operating situations. simulation results show that rise of top temperature, performance indicators system, gained-output-ratio (GOR), productivity, reach maximum value MFRR balance condition dehumidifier, while power photovoltaic/thermal (PV/T) reaches minimum under different incident conditions. It summarized also represents upper limit air compensation capability “turning point” which be enhanced by raising temperature Furthermore, outperforms other HDH configurations in prior research, demonstrating feasibility superiority present water-producing supported storage.

Exergy Analysis of a Solar Humidification- Dehumidification Desalination Unit

This paper presents the exergy analysis of a desalination unit using humidification-dehumidification process. Here, this unit is considered as a thermal system with three main components, which are the heating unit by using a solar collector, the evaporator or the humidifier, and the condenser or the dehumidifier. In these components the exergy is a measure of the quality or grade of energy and...

Air-Heating Solar Collectors for Humidification-Dehumidification Desalination Systems

Relative to solar water heaters, solar air heaters have received relatively little investigation and have resulted in few commercial products. However, in the context of a humidification-dehumidification (HDH) desalination cycle, air heating accounts for advantages in cycle performance. Solar collectors can be over 40% of an air-heated HDH system’s cost; thus, design optimization is crucial. Be...
